Y7-9

From year 7-9 students study natural geographic concepts such as map reading, earth movements, climate change, water, landforms and geology as well as topics involving human geography such as settlement and shopping, resources and environmental issues, population distribution and changes, global patterns of inequality and development within countries. They should also have the opportunity to work outside the classroom. Year 7 gives students an introduction to Geography and the importance of our own country as well as looking into how climate, weather and ice play a significant part in our lives. Our Key questions in Y8 centre around the effect humans have on the planet as well as the diversity of continents such as Africa. In Y9 we further develop understanding of the unique features of landscape but focus heavily on urbanisation and globalisation.
