Women into Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) Careers Fair

Tuesday 6^th October 2026, 3:30pm to 6:00pm - The Guildhall, Alfred Gelder Street, Hull, HU1 2AA

WiME is a Humber-based initiative that encourages more women/girls to consider a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). They are running a late afternoon/early evening careers event on Tuesday 6^th October 2026, between 3:30pm and 6:00pm, at the Guildhall in Hull.

Over 20 employers from the manufacturing, engineering, digital, construction, and renewable sectors will be in attendance, including AB Graphic International, Boston Energy, Centrica, GEV Wind, Hobson and Porter, Howdens Joinery, Ideal Heating, KCOM, KWL, Laing O’Rourke, Orsted, Phillips66, Ropsley, RWE, and SSE.

You will be able to meet women who work for these exciting companies in our region, speak to them about their careers, the businesses they work for, the industries they work in, what they enjoy about their work, and why you should consider joining them.

You’ll also be able to find out more about current and future job vacancies, learn about apprenticeship opportunities, and discover what qualifications and training you’ll need to work in their industries.

In addition, free sessions on transferable skills will be available, helping you to stand out to potential employers and training providers.

The event is aimed at students in Year 9 and above.

We have events in National Apprenticeship Week for parents –  supported by employers (BAE Systems, Swift Group & William Jackson Food Group) and their apprentices.

The  event on Thursday 8^th February at 6pm is aimed at parents/carers with their young people and will reinforce the messages from the possible student session but answer the questions parents may have as we know they play a huge role in decision making. Pathway CTM will be joining us at our Careers Clinic next week to provide more information.  I have attached flyers for these to the email, and here are the links to get booked on:
