Continuation of ERSMS instrumental lessons

Music plays a valuable and extensive role in our school, and we are delighted by the numbers of students who have instrumental lessons provided by the East Riding Schools Music Service (ERSMS). The school subsidises these lessons because of the value we know that they provide.

If your child currently has ERSMS instrument/voice lessons with a visiting ERSMS teacher, you can sign up to continue them at Beverley High.

Please download the letter below which contains all the information you need, and the link to the online form you'll need to complete by Monday 13th July.

FAQs

What if my child wants to start instrumental lessons for the first time? There is a different sign-up form for pupils wishing to start lessons for the first time with an ERSMS teacher. This will be made available at the end of September.

What if my child isn't sure whether they'd like to continue their instrumental lessons into secondary school? We understand that your child may not be 100% sure about continuing, so if they decide to stop lessons before the end of September, there will be no charge.

What if I want my child's instrumental lessons to stop at the end of Year 6? If you prefer that your child stops their ERSMS instrumental lessons at the end of Year 6, please inform the ERSMS (schools.music@eastriding.gov.uk) as soon as possible and by the end of the day on Monday 13th July.

My child is eligible for Pupil Premium; will I need to contribute to costs for instrumental lessons? If your child qualifies for Targeted FSM, there is no parental contribution, so please encourage your child to continue their instrumental lessons if they would like. For any questions about Pupil Premium or Targeted FSM, please contact Mrs Burniston (k.burniston@beverleyhigh.net).
