Our Year 9 & 10 Students have made a great start to the Netball league both teams had strong wins against Woldgate School . Year 10 managed not to concede a goal over the four quarters! Well done everyone!
On the 7th October twelve of our students competed in the first round of the National Schools Cross Country Cup at Pocklington School. The Junior team came 4th out of 12 schools in Humberside and the Intermediate team came 3rd place and have qualified to compete at the regional competition in November. Amazing effort and achievements by both teams!
We have also launched our new football club on Tuesday for Y7 and Y8 under the expert guidance of Mr Colton and Jess Wilkes (Y11 Hull City Scholarship Player)
Cross Country News
English Schools Competition:
Our intermediate cross country girls ran in the regional final of the English schools cross country competition on Saturday 9th Nov. The girls did amazing in what was both tough competition and conditions! Our students did us proud and showed perseverance, resilience and determination to complete the course as a team. They were amongst the best 50 runners in the East Midlands region which is quite an achievement. Well done to; A Appleyard, I Walby, L Gorry and T Ford, hopefully next year we can go one step further and make it to the cup final!
East Riding Schools Cross Country:
On October the 22nd we took students from year 7 to 13 to the schools cross country competition at Cottingham. This year we had some of the best results we have ever had. Every team we took has qualified for the Humberside county round.
Our year 7 team came 1st beating the 2nd placed school by over 100 points! Four of our girls came in the top ten out of ninety three runners.
Year 8 came 2nd, Year 9 & 10 combined came 4th And two of our sixth formers will also be competing in the next county round.
Well done to all the students that took part.
Last Tuesday we took a year 7 & year 8 team to compete in the school sports partnership (SSP) sports hall athletics competition for our area.
The year 7 team came second and the year 8 team came first for the second year in a row.
They had to compete in a range of track and field events, including triple Jump, Shot Put and Sprint relays.
