Inspiring a love of learning

“Inspiring a love of learning”

‘The lessons and the teachers are really good and I’ve made so many more friends since starting the sixth form’ Emily, Year 12

‘I’ve been able to achieve a level of independence but still rely on the support of staff I know when I’ve needed it’ Beth, Year 13

‘To begin with I was nervous about meeting new people but everyone has been welcoming. The subjects I chose are right for me and the teachers are helpful. Coming here was the right decision’ A new student who started in Yr 12

“I taught in several schools and I was only blessed with sons but I firmly believe that if I had a daughter I would want her to go to this school because I am aware at first hand of the dedication of all of its staff to the care and education of the girls. This school does realise that it is precious cargo that it carries.” A former teacher

Dear Beverley High School attendees, Welcome to Highlights, the new school blog, written anonymously by your fellow pupils.

‘This is embarrassing’.

‘Who are they trying to be?’ we hear you ask yourselves.

Well, it’s actually more of a question of ‘what are we trying to do’.

We aim to educate you on subjects that may be unfamiliar or misunderstood in our society, feminism for example. Topics that need to be discussed, but are often not.

Of course the learning will be a two-way thing; we want as many opinions as possible! So there is an email address: highlights@beverleyhigh.net

This email address will allow you to express your creativity in many different ways. We encourage you to send us anything you have written/made, or any topic ideas you would like us to write about, so that it can be displayed and appreciated on the blog, anonymously if you wish.

You can send anything from stories and articles, to poems and photo edits, no judgements will be made!

We hope to have more posts up within the next few weeks, so please don't hold back on your emails!

You know you love me
xoxo
....

Just kidding,
