In year 7, students will study Local History to introduce some of the key skills and concepts before they study Medieval realms and the Tudors.  In year 8, students will study the making of the ‘Modern World’, with emphasis on political, social and economic history in Britain c.1530 to 1900 encompassing the reigns of the Tudors and Stuarts and looking at the establishment of the United Kingdom. They complete Year 8 looking at Empire, slavery and the suffrage movements. In year 9, the course begins with a look at Titanic and how it represents society before a focus on the causes and events of the First World War and Second World War. Students will also study the Holocaust before ending with a look at the USA in the 20th century.
