Educational Visits
“Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.”
At Beverley High School, we recognise the importance of educational visits and enrichment activities. The knowledge and experiences gained beyond the classroom help to consolidate and extend learning, while also supporting the development of personal and social skills.
Our vision—“inspiring individuals with a love of learning”—is reflected in our ambition to provide experiences that are positive, enjoyable, enriching and memorable.
- We offer a structured trips pathway to ensure all students benefit from a progression of core experiences: in Year 7, students take part in local visits; in Year 8, national trips; and in Year 9, students are offered an international visit.
- In addition we offer a wide range of department-led and wider cultural capital opportunities. In recent years they have included visits to - Hay Festival, Burghley House, Yorkshire Scultpure park, Dalby Forest, Oxford University, Hull Truck Theatre, Royal Opera House, Royal Court of Justice, Millau.
- We are also proud to offer a distinctive House programme. Each year, a number of students in Years 7–10 take part in one of five House trips, where they visit a different location across the country linked to the inspirational woman who represents their House. These experiences strengthen students’ sense of identity, belonging, and understanding of the historical and cultural significance of these figures.
A selection of images can be found on the right-hand side, showcasing some of these experiences.
Feedback Y8 student - National trip - Royal Opera House, London
It felt crazy to be in the Royal opera house. It's so fancy in there! I think my favourite bit of the ballet is when all the dancers are together in the second half! Although I loved it all I could not believe that it was over two hours long it felt like 20 minutes. All the dancers were unbelievable. It was definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity and I would love to go see another to be honest I would love to see the same one again. It has definitely inspired me to work hard and follow my dreams It was a very memorable experience, and I am extremely grateful for it.
