Y10-11

Students develop their visual communication skills to a high level and explore new and exciting ways of working to realise personal ideas. Work is produced in a range of two and three-dimensional media and students are encouraged to explore photography, basic filmmaking and installation work as separate or related experiences. Knowledge becomes understanding and students recognise and engage with contemporary and historical artwork. A study trip to a contemporary gallery in year 10 informs the development of ideas for the coursework element of the GCSE examination. At the end of year 11 the students’ work is celebrated in an exhibition to which parents, friends and the wider community are invited.
