“Inspiring a love of learning”

‘The lessons and the teachers are really good and I’ve made so many more friends since starting the sixth form’ Emily, Year 12

‘I’ve been able to achieve a level of independence but still rely on the support of staff I know when I’ve needed it’ Beth, Year 13

‘To begin with I was nervous about meeting new people but everyone has been welcoming. The subjects I chose are right for me and the teachers are helpful. Coming here was the right decision’ A new student who started in Yr 12

“I taught in several schools and I was only blessed with sons but I firmly believe that if I had a daughter I would want her to go to this school because I am aware at first hand of the dedication of all of its staff to the care and education of the girls. This school does realise that it is precious cargo that it carries.” A former teacher

Exam Performance 2017

GCSE

We were pleased to receive our 2017 GCSE examination results.  This year 85% of Year 11 girls achieved 4-9 grades including English and Mathematics which is the school's highest ever results and the best in East Yorkshire. Twenty-Eight girls achieved at least eight A and A* grades.  The progress measures show have still to be calculated but we are anticipating our Progress 8 score to be in the top 10% of schools nationally.  Over 45% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate measure again putting us as the best achieving school in East Yorkshire. We are awaiting the government’s  statistics (due to be published in early December) to show our performance in relation to national data.

A Level

At A Level 99% of Year 13 girls in the Joint Sixth Form achieved grades A*-E; with 78% achieving A*-C and 50% A*-B.  The vast majority of girls gained places at their first place universities.  Approximately 40% of students from the Joint Sixth Form gained places at Russell Group Universities.
